Jack arrived on Feb 16th, soon after that we are off to Phuket. We stayed at Burasari a nice local boutique hotel.
My favorite park of this hotel, this is literally next to our sumptuous buffet breakfast. This is a bed swing, what a brilliant idea.

One of our favorite spot that we visited twice is Jyongcelon mall food court, I know it sounds cheesy but the food was so good and we could order so many varieties all in one place. It's efficient and delicious.

Our brains were craving Penang hawker food and our tummies agreed. We we drove up north to Penang for 2 nights. Our hawker tour started at the usual

Jelutong for char koay kak, curry mee, apong (indian pancake). The best curry mee so I bought some of the chili paste from the vendor which I will freeze and bring back to CA. Haha.. I shall attempt to reverse engineer this dish. After a few hours
The infamous Ah Leng char koay teow. It was really good, with lots of shrimp and not greasy. But I have one gripe, don't be stingy on the koay teow me! I swear a plate of koay teow only fits on 1/4 of the plate for RM9. There is literally more shrimp than koay teow. Next time I am there I am going to order, "Char koay teow keh koay teow please!!"

Aunty Su Yin, Wei Chern and the 2 kids came in ti visit on the 3rd day of CNY. I totally bribed the 2 kids with a Barbie doll and a Transformer toy. Justin was so funny showing off his new toy to all the neighborhood kids. It was also Megan's birthday, she turns 7 so we celebrated at home with a chocolate cake yum!

It was a nice family reunion this year. Quit unfortunately Jack couldn't take that much time off to join us for CNY. We miss you Jack! My sis was back from Aus, Danny came out from Colorado and Grandma came in to KL to celebrate with us this year. We had hot pot for the family on the eve and the usual CNY dishes like Ju hu char(cuttle fish popiah mix), kiam chai ark (salty veggie duck soup), and much more..

We had a dinner party at the house, Sara's family + Kok Loon, Janice and Terence, siew eng and Steward were some of our guests. Everyone participating in "Lou sang" - A mix crunchy fried dough, sweet sauce and raw fish for good life and prosperity.

It has been exactly 10 years since I left KL for university, so I am pretty excited to be celebrating Chinese New Year in my parents new home this year. They did such a god job with the interior design, great job mom and dad! We also got to see our new house.

Eco park really turned out beautifully, I enjoyed my daily run around the lake and also visiting all the new show houses. Some cool ID ideas:

This morning, back to house hunting. Ive finally settled on 3 final choices.
Option 1: Super lux 1 bedder with split level loft-style bedroom, pool n gym, closest to train n bus and work. (335/wk)

Option 2: Medium lux 2 bedder with facilities, still within easy access to work, mall and bus. Yet to be viewed (340/wk)

Option 3: Very lux 1 bedder with facilities, but small living space. Very close to mall and food and within easy access to train and bus. (350/wk)

Bottomline, its gotta be at Rhodes or Liberty Grove cos my pampered toosh can't bear living in a shithole like Meadowbank and I dislike dirty. Hope I get my pad this weekend!!

Accupuncture for Allergies

My allergies never fails to remind me of Spring, and the access pollen in the air. Symptoms started to be bad over last weekend and peaked on Monday. Over the weekend, Betty referred me to an acupuncturist that seem to help dad(Wu one) with his neck cramp. Although I have tried acupuncture before, I was actually surprised that this doctor actually tries to cure you of your problem and doesn't ask you to come back after he cures you. Other friends who has tried this guy also claims that he will tell you, this if your last visit you are cured. I was kind of turned off by my previous acupuncturist who was trying to milk my insurance by scheduling endless visits.

I wanted to keep a log on how I am feeling over the course of this treatment.

First visit today:
Asked me why am I here today, so I told him allergies, towards pollen, cat, dust.
During the consultation, he read my pulse on my wrist and looked at my tongue. He told me that I am suffering from liver chi blockage which could be a possible cause for my body to over react towards allergens. He said, you get angry easily, emotional things get to you, easily and quickly react to depressive matter. That's when he got my attention. Err.. I was here for allergies, but he could tell me so much about myself. Then he said there is also a lot of trapped mucus in your body which explains the allergies as well.

His treatment started with needles at the back, neck back and feet, cupping, light pressure point massage and then needles on the front side. I would say the treatment felt more thorough than the previous acupuncturist. I was told to boiled 3 bags of herb for the next 3 days.

Leaving the office, my neck felt so good. You can imagine how my neck felt before the treatment, considering how much I have been working in front of the computer lately with work and the venture. My head just felt so light almost disconnected from my shoulders. My itchy eyes that has been bothering me for 3 days are gone. Seriously.

I came home to boil the tea, I open the bag to find some dried up beetles as part of the mix. Euu... can't wait to drink that! Although the herbs look really high quality and fresh. It's also a self picked recipe rather than off the shelve type of medicine. He has one of those medicine cabinets with many drawers in his office, like a typical Chinese medicine shop in Asia. His office also smells of the goodies behind those drawers. God know what other dried insects.

Doesn't it remind you of fear factor. I have to drink 5 glasses of this tea per day. Yumm
looking forward to that.

Well, I am going to give it a good shot. If it can cure my allergies, it will be a big step. His website also has some more information and some good reading.

The chinese new year cookie making party was a great success. This is the first time we are celebrating in our new house and it will start a tradition for many more new years to follow.
The Jam tart cookie making factory started with me making the jam the night before. It took me 4 solid hours to make the jam from 3 large pineapples. The jam tart factory started at about 1pm on the Sunday, 1st day of new year.

Choon, Pei Sun, Chin Ping, and Betty was the very first few to arrive. The Chng's started the Kuin Kapit, and cornflake cookie factory. They were very adventurous with the kuih kapit, armed with 2 mold. The production was slow at the beginning, but it ramped up when uncle Chris came and helped. The training from Malaysia, he said grandma use to make them handle 8 mold all at once.

The dining table quickly filled with all kinds of sweet goodies. We had jam tarts, almond cookies, peanut cookies, cornflake cookies, key lime pie, swiss roll, and lots more.. We had several friends come by with their babies, Lina (Kathy&Koji daughter), Clarence (Tammy & Brian's son) and Kai Xiang (Judy and Png's son) all the kiddos got ang pows.

Dinner also turned out to be quite a spread of variety, chicken rice, cold noodles, claypot tofu, vegetarian roll, popiah, baked salmon, saseme noodle.

Party was a feast of goodies. The gambling started later with a mahjong table in the kitchen, a jin mati table in the living room and a table of hearts. It was the most eventful Chinese New Year party for me in the states. Thank you all for coming and making this happen.

AOL (Art of Living not America On-Line)

I attended the Art of Living course based on a coworker's suggestion a couple weeks back. I saw the change in my coworker and thought it was worth a try. He just seems more energetic at peace and happier and claims that his wrist pains were gone. I went to the class hoping to get more energy and to cope with stress and maybe even get rid of my wrist pains.

Being a skeptic, I was waiting for a little bit until I commented on it. The 6 day course was mostly about being in the present and teaching the Sudarshan Kriya (AOL breathing / meditation). Overall it was a good experience.

They hold weekly sessions of the Sudarshan Kriya and I just got back from another session. Like last week and during the course it felt good. It feels like my mind gets a reboot (Ya, I am a geek for using this term) and I always leave the session happy and singing with the radio on the way home. I do have better energy and focus the last two weeks so I can attribute that to the course. Will have to see if I can keep this up and if the benefits keep coming.

Valentine dinner extraordinaire

With the schedule of work and the business, we have been overdue for a night out. Just Jack and I, no dog :). Jack took the opportunity of Vday and made dinner reservation on this highly rated restaurant called Manresa in Log Gatos. The food, service and ambiance was nothing short of a Michelin quality restaurant. We were treated to their chef's tasting menu and it was exquisite. So far the best French style tasting menu I have ever had. My analogy to the experience was "it was like food orchestra". Dinner was 3 hours long.

Chef Tasting Menu:

Olive Madeleine and Red Bell Pepper gelatin candy - Different, a harmony of savory and sweet
Deep fried cube with molten Foie gras inside - Exquisite change in texture, and delicious taste
Fresh oyster topped with uni and soft gelatin - This one is challenging, Jack thinks it ruin his previous Foie gras after taste
Poached egg, caramel, cream, and salt in an eggshell - You could feel the different senses of you taste buds hit at different time.
Molten foie gras topped with broccoli soup and pistachio - Excellent bread dip
Amber Jack sashimi with nori and slice ginger - This dish was an attention grabber, this is no ordinary restaurant. Loved every bite.
Foie Gras main course, a visible piece of liver - It was very good, but a challenging dish.
Sliced scallop topped with sauted tripe - We have never had scallop this fresh and tasty, it's texture was more like Daikon rather than scallop. It's taste was just our of this world.
Curried spiced shrimp from Monteray, with hanging caviar like row on it's legs - tasted nothing like curry, but you can smell the spice and super fresh
Pan seared bass with daikon and spinach - The fish was excellent, but the spinach was the attention grabber. Tasted like no ordinary spinach, with a sweet after taste.
Beef medallion that was almost rare, with daikon and caramelized chestnuts - An acquired taste. We loved the caramelized chestnuts though.
Suckling pig - Was very good, but a bit on the fatty side.
Some unique sorbet, with some shave ice soaked in some liquor
Fried banana, sliced banana in gelatin, and some unique cream
Chocolate parfait
Chocolate Madeleine with strawberry and chocolate gelatin candy --back to the begining

The experience was like dinner and a show in one. The mixture of all the different taste in every dish, a fusion of east meets west was the theme. We had such a good time, and really brings back the memories when we were dating and we only lived in the present. Being married sometimes makes one plan too much about the future that we forget about how lucky we are right now.

No more TV

Yup, it's true. I have canceled our subscription to DISH network on Tuesday. I still can't believe it. Considering what a TV addict I am. I felt the need for more time and TV was taking a lot it. Unfortunately, I lack the discipline to limit myself so the best alternative is just cancel it.

So far the experiment has been working pretty well. I spend more time training Bailey. I cleaned up the house. We went to the gym two nights in a row. I think the last time we did that is when we first joined the gym.

I wonder how long we can keep this up before regressing back to couch potatoes.

Cruise sucks

We just got back from the cruise. It just wasn't my style of traveling. I felt trapped, forced to wear a suit and was on someone else's schedule.

Here is the rough day to day summary:

Day 1: Waited forever just go get on the boat
Day 2: Trapped at Sea
Day 3: Haiti. This was Royal Caribbian's island. Beach was lame and we didn't take cash so no shopping.
Day 4: Jamaica. Went kayaking and climbed a water fall but felt rushed.
Day 5: Was suppose to go to Grand Caymen but got canceled due to rough waters. So another day at sea.
Day 6: Cosumel, this is where everyone got seasick on the ferry. Lots of puking going on. Went to see the Mayan ruins.
Day 7: Trapped on the boat, can't wait to go home and see Bailey.

There were few highlights of the trip. Good friends, the animals they made from towels every night, Cosumel's beautiful waters. We should of just stayed there the whole week.

Oh Don, we did play suffleboard but I forgot my camera to document the moment. It was tougher then I thought. I guess darkness and rough sea complicates the game.

Anyways, we won't be on any cruises anytime soon. Lynn actually said she would rather work then go on the cruise.

So last weekend, D and I went on an eating binge. We hit Domo's Japanese restaurant which served village-style sushi (the best Ive had ever!) When can we go again?? Look at how much food we had: If i concentrate real hard, I can still taste the Maguro and smelt roe in japanese mayonaise.
he next day, we had Vesta's dipping grill, which is a unique place where you're served with your choice of 3 different sauces (of maybe 50 sauces) to go with your meats. D had some divine venison that melts in your mouth and oozes flavour. I had lamb which was pretty darn good, but I liked the venison more.

Tuesday night (before the storm) it was a good thing we filled out 4 stomachs each full of Japango! which offers all-you-can-eat Japanese food only on tuesdays. This was our second visit since I got here but it was still good as hell. Must haves include: tuna tempura, shrimp dynamite and Ikura sushi! i love Ikura. Spicy tuna roll was good as well. We were with D's friends Mike and Shelley and we all had a good time. Forgot to take a pic at Japango again...was too busy eating to remember.

So the next time you're ever in Denver, here's a tip...bring your extra stomachs!

Ho Ho Ho...not yet a merry xmas..but it does seem to look like Santa's going to have a hard time navigating to Colorado kids. Its been 2 days since DK and I stepped out of the house. Started snowing really heavy the entire wednesday (as you can tell from the 2 day CNN headlines we made) we currently have maybe 1.5ft of snow around the perimeter of the hse...meaning,..no one gets in...no one gets out. ...I hope the groceries last...DOnt make me kill Wuki!!!!!

DK has been happily wowing cos he's snowed in from work. seems like life in ft.collins has come to a weird stand-still. no cars on the roads (except the ones that got stuck). Here are some views from home:

Last Sunday we were invited to Jae's for hotpot. Hat's off to Jae for pulling off a hotpot party for almost 40 people. We brought Bailey along to meet Jae's new Pom, Polo. He is so sweet and well behaved. Bailey as usual was acting puppy like around Polo. I think they had fun, but we all had more fun just watching them ..

Chapter 2: O' what a beautiful night

The main reason for going to Vegas was that Danny got us tickets for Cirque Du Soleil's "O". It was perfect, the imagery, the art of human movement...fantastic. I really enjoyed it. Thanks again D! The show was on the last night we were in town, after our French buffet, we just walked across to The Bellagio where the show was held. I was joking to D that since Ive seen one CDS now, I gotta see them all!! But those of you who think you wanna pamper yourself with a good night out, I strongly recommend this. Sorry I cant put any pics of the show, we're not allowed to photograph them, but you can look at cirquedusoleil.com??

It was definately our lucky night, cos we had great food, great entertainment and as we were walking to the show, the fountain show from Bellagio went on, was a real treat! Also, Im beginning to really like walks. We walked 40 mins home to Venetian and I enjoyed every minute of it, except the freezing desert winds! I cant seem to post any pics on the blog tonight. I'll try again tomorrow. sorry folks. but you remember how I look like. 8P

V for very,very extraordinary

This is the recap of my 4d/3n trip to Vegas last weekend.

Chapter 1: Of Buffets, mice and men

Danny and I were totally excited to be in Vegas since its the first time for both of us. All we could think abt was the glorious food we've been hearing abt from so many sources. I looked up the internet for top places for buffets and we narrowed it to our top 3 choices, since one can only have so many buffets in a day! First stop was international buffet at Wynn hotel. Laine's rating gives its full scores for aesthetics, not so much on service and yeah, you betcha the shrimp and alaskan king crab legs were mighty fine!! Imagine a fat kid (and i mean grossly overweight) in a chocolate store, salivate salivate salivate...ate a whole lot that night...good thing we walked back to the hotel after, just to get our GITs cracking. I absolutely loved the decor, reminded me of a modern alice in wonderland.

Dinnertime no. 2, target seafood buffet at Rio's The Village Seafood Restaurant. This place had great reviews from everyone, including our cab driver so we had our hopes up. In the end, food was so-so, atmosphere was like being in a room full of big burly men, with their big chunky fingers trying to pry open those crab legs. Not pretty. This night, I was just happy being with the best looking guy in there. hahaha. We didnt have too many crab legs cos 1. We ate a whole fishing boat full at Wynn the other night and 2. Wynn actually had them peeled!!!! imagine that! Even Caeser had to have his grapes with the skin on 'em. We were pampered too much on day 1 to be impressed by Rio. Oh, did i mention lobsters??? yeah, that...and oysters??? mmmMMmmm good.

Night 3, we decided to go all Parisian and head down to Paris Hotel for french buffet. The setting in this one was stylish, very realistic and had a very romantic feel, (if u neglect the ever ringing sound of slots around you) Food was great, we liked this one much more than Rio's. Dessert was heavenly. Definately food coma after that. So, food in Vegas is definately a strong driving point to wanna come back for more. Just gotta know where to go, unless you were born in the Ooi family and are blessed with more stomachs than a cow. No mice were involved in this trip.

My part time maids went back to their homeland and I was without help for the past one and a half months. With my gym schedule and the daily chores I can hardly find time to organise my usual "lepaking" sessions.

Auntie Ah Choo recommended me her part time maids from Mynmar. They came today and I find them just as good as the old ones. They charge Rm50.00 for 3 hours of housework. They vacume,mob,wipe,clean the aircondintioning, fans to washing all the toilets.

Guess all of you over in US must be "mouthing watering" for this opportunity. This is one of the benefits over here. hahahha.

However, Mr OBS came home and still vacumn the house today. Really a person who does not know how to relex "hong siew".

Dad will be in China with uncle Richard and pals for a 5 days holiday. Poor me home alone.

Two days ago I "low sai" and today I "tora" 3 times inthe hotel hehheheh.This morning Dad and I dressed up pretty well in suiteand kebaya and off to his office at 8am. At 10am wedrove to Shangrila Hotel for the briefing which wasscheduled at 11am. Most reciepents were on timeexcept for 1.There were altogether 3,500 applications for theEndeavour awards. Out of this number Malaysia managedto secure 13 placings. Laines award was the highestpaid one and there were only 4 successful students.The balance 9 reciepents were for smaller awards likeAus50K and Aus25k grants.It was quite fun during the briefing conducted by thecouncellar of education, Aust Hight Comm in KL,Mr AdamCalon.All reciepents sat on the right with the VVP andparents on the left. So I was on the left and theoldest reciepent (Dad) hahaha on the right.After that we left for lunch at Renaissance on our owncos only reciepents were invited.We are parentsremember "ang mo tik". You know what Dad pandai2 worehis new pair of very tight shoes which he boughtduring lynn's graduation 6 yrs ago. He suffered somuch so that on returning to Shangrila he had to rushto his car to change to his old pair.Now the presentation. All were seated and had to waitawhile for the VVP. Our Malaysian minister DatukMustaffa represented our PM came in first and mixaround with the reciepents while waiting for theAust.PM Mr John Howard. The PM is a very joyful manquite casual and friendly.Then Mr Adam Calon officiated the ceremony by invitingthe PM for a speech and followed by Datuk Mustaffa,Malaysian Minister of Higher Learning who alsograduated from Australia years ago.The speeches were sweet and short and sorry forgottenwhat were said hahahhah.Then the presentation. They started with the topachievers knowningly who......Mrang,...Miss...,Miss... and then MR OOI ops there werelaughter and Mr Adam annouced that Mr Ooi isrepresenting Ms Ooi Li Laine his daughter for theaward prsentation and MR PM said Excellent.There were professional photographers to take photos. I will follow up with the High Comm ladies for theprints. Unfortunately we had no digital camera butexcept my beach one (laine you know the one you found)but I will ask the High Comm,ladies whether they couldemail me a print. I was too excited so much so whenDad was accepting the award I forgot to snap. Luckilywe hve the professional prints hehhehe.All the staff at the Aust High Comm were very helpfuland they told me to get in touch cos they said theyalso want to look as nice as me in the Kebaya... nojoke but true.Dad had a chat with Mr Adam and invited him for golfsomeday and he really gave Dad his card.

Aint this pic cool? We were in Denver and behaving like total tourists and we asked this lady to snap a picture of us. She coincidently happened to be a photgraphy student and had a cool looking camera on hand fitted with thousand dollar fisheye lens. this is the effect it created!! get it? If i were looking at a goldifish, this is the view it sees. She even emailed the pic to us. So there ARE some nice ppl in this world. Bless you Patti.

Farewell LSI

Finally, I have decided to say goodbye to the 9-5 routine. Only to hop on the 9-9 train. However I am sure it's going to be much more rewarding. I can feel it already. All I can think about now is how much Choon and I can get done in a week now. I have been multi tasking between work, business after work and on weekends and it's becoming too tiring. In addition to that I can never meet people since I can only schedule after 5pm meetings.

My boss was quite disappointed about me leaving since we have quite a lot of work now. So my suggestion to that is , hey I am able to work part time 20hrs a week. He likes that idea and will discuss to his boss about it and see if we can swing a contracting deal at least until March of next year. Will see if they can swing that.. it will work perfect. He even say, hey maybe you can be a contractor until you get to your senses about this business thing. Heh.. I said hey shouldn't you wish that I be the next facebook? He said if you do make sure you save me a spot and you can be the boss of me :). But after telling him our idea, he thinks it's a great idea and could see how it would be useful. So looks like people do like the idea, it's all up to us now to execute on it. My last day would be Dec 8th 2006 , 2 weeks from now.

This year we have much to thank for and I am quoting Jack, " We completed our world wedding tour, Laine got her scholarship, we are starting a new venture that will hopefully be a start to something exciting, our dog sleeps on a tempurpedic pillow :) and our family and friends are in great health.

So we celebrate by first going to Choon's place for the yearly lunch. We had Turkey and stuffing, vegetarian noodles, pumkin pie, mash potatoes and green bean casarole. Bailey was there with us too, which scared Toro. Hopefully the will soon be more comfortable with each other.

Jack passed out on the sofa from food coma. Bailey actually slept on his arm for 20 mins. How cute..

For dinner Brandon invited us to Mak mak's place to try out his organic turkey, which is free range :). We had veggies, mash potatoes and mac and cheeze. The finisher was pumpkin pie of course. At the end we were rolling on the floor with a food coma checking out adds on sales for black friday.

Yesterday after our biz meeting, Pei Sun and I went to the gem show in San Mateo. It's always fun to see all these semi-precious and precious gems on display in a warehouse. We were denied from going to the wholesale area cos the security claims that our friends biz license number was missing digit. Too bad...any way it was still fun, too bad Laine you are not here. You would have a ball with all the stuff. So after a whole day I finally found a pair of diamond and pearl earrings that I really like for $125. Very classy looking. and 3 pairs of silver ones for under $10 each.

Big Star

SO! tonight Danny and I went for a really nice dinner at Boulder. Funny thing was, as we were driving there, there was a big star lit up on a mountain a couple of miles away that was visible from even the freeway. Little did we know that the restaurant was actually situated right next to and i mean NEXT TO the freakin big star. very cool. food was great, the best scallops ive ever had. truly gastronomic. its the kind that invokes a face ...an OMG-I cant-believe- this-tastes-so good-eyes-closed MMmmmMMmmMmm face. definately a good place to celebrate. and we do have lots to celebrtae dont we?? We rock!!

So here is the story, Im on vacation for 2 mths to visit family and also Danny and Im having such a lovely time, shopping, cooking (crazy but true!) and also spending time with the B-boy (thats Bailey) All along I've had this idea that my scholarship application results will make or break my vacation. For those of you who are still in the dark, I was applying for funding to graduate school in Australia. OK, so its odd that suddenly I'm such a high achiever (what did u feed me ,mom?) but going to school is such a surprisingly nice experience, i think im gona go fight like hell with thousands of other people to study some more!. Nutty isnt it?

2 days ago, I woke up , had my fav. reese's puffs and checked email, as always. and to my horror, I got an email saying I didnt get one of the scholarships I applied for. boo hoo...bawled my eyes out like a 3 year old for a coupla minutes. Thank goodness Danny has been great to cry on. SO at that point, I was really at a low, dejected and skeptical that I'll get anything else. I applied for 5 scholarships. These are all funded by the Aus gov. 3 of them (called EIPRS) were applied through different universities. 1 called EMA was for Msian students wanting to study in Aus and the last was called EPA. The past months since I applied for these schols. I prayed like hell everyday that someone up there loves me enough.

There was no way I was going to fork out AUD150k for a 3 year PhD, so relying on funding was a make or break deal. Yesterday, I got a surprise conference call from mom and lynn, saying I got some scholarship from Aus. to my absolute shock, surprise and you name it, I had it...I got the EPA!!! which stands for Endeavour Postgraduate Award which is a full scholarship that covers tuition and living expenses and also a monthly stipend. This is too good!! To add icing on the cake, this EPA can be used for any university of my choice, so USyd here I come!! (Usyd was my first choice, UQ my second and Monash 3rd). To add a marashino cherry on my icing on my cake, the EPA toally kicks EIPRS ass..reason being 1. there are only 40 awards each year compared to 330 EIPRS each year. 2. The monthly stipend I'm getting is more than the EIPRS stipend. 3. I could get up to AUD 195k in funding for up to 3.5 years of study!!!!! $$$$$. and 4. I kick ass!!

ok ok, its now time to apologise for being obnoxious and a show-off. Im sorry. but really, its hard to get this!! Throw me a freakin' bone!! Ive gone from zero to Wonder Woman ...you gotta admit, its pretty darn cool. SIgh...

So Just wanted to add this to the blog, cos its filled with so much cheer, warmth, joy and gloating!..can u take it? can u?? can u?? hahahahaha..all of you are welcomed to visit my 1 bedroom apt. next year. see, i can be sugary sweet n nice ok. 8P

It's Tuesday, 6 days after the start of my strep throat. I have now been upgraded to Augmentin, the king of Antibiotics. Even the size of the pills is scary. But at lease I can feel that I am finally winning the war against the bacteria slowly. I am so glad that Jack has been so great at taking care of me and all the dog duties while I am sick. He is really such a great dad to Bailey, and also such a good husband for taking care of me. I am sorry that his week off from work is filled with taking care of me and the house chores. I promise to make it up when I get better. I am really starting to get tired of being sick. I should probably try to exercise more and eat healthier.

Danny's Visit

So Danny visited on thursday to pick Laine up for Colorado. Heh..she somehow was capable of flying herself halfway around the globe, but couldn't quite make the last leg. I guess that's how people who are in-love can "oh loh". So we picked him up from the airport and then head over to dinner at Dynasty chinese restaurant. It was quite unfortunate that I was having this bad sore throat that we thought was a start to a flu. Food was good but I wasn't feeling well. My condition worsen on friday, with high fever every 6 hours when my tylenol would wear out. I tried to see a doctor but they were fully booked. So the doctor called in a 5 day antibiotic for me to pick up from the pharmacy on sunday. On saturday, we went to SF. Danny got his hair cut and I got my hair permed. We then went to the new mall in SF by Westfield. It was really nice. So unfortunately, I was not really a good host time time, being sick most of the time. But I am sure the two of them were fine just so happy to be with each other. Send them off to the airport on sunday nite after Horace and Becky visited us at home.

Back tracking a few weeks, So Laine was secretly in cahoot with her "ta-ke" (aka big brother) to ambush me 2 weeks prior to her original arrival date. We were waiting for Alice to meet us for dinner, which I thought was running way late. What I didn't know was Alice was picking up a a suspicious package from SFO that night and the plane from Msia was running late. Low and behold I saw a 5 ft shadow swiftly scurried across the hallway. Who could that be I though? No Wu's are 5 ft tall. In disbelieve, I saw her appeared in front of me, totally dumb founded for the next 10 secs. It didn't quite register immediately.. but when it did it was definitely a pleasant surprise. What a ingeniously planned birthday present. bravo to all involved in the covert operation.
